The company’s journey began under the name Sandbach Car & Commercial Dismantlers (SCCD) in Sandbach, where the focus was car breaking, small scale scrap buying, and surplus army sales. Over the years, our services evolved and expanded to meet the growing demand and ever-changing needs of our customers.
In 1987, we built an aluminium furnace at our Sandbach yard and ventured into aluminium smelting. We continued breaking cars and smelting aluminium until 2002, when we shifted our focus to scrap steel and vehicles due to changes in market profitability and space needs.
By 2003, we had become proactive about steel recycling and introduced a skip hire service to maximise productivity. In 2005, we sought scrap on a larger scale by offering dismantling and demolition services. We ventured into online auctions in 2006, looking for ferrous and non-ferrous metals, and in 2007, we made our first overseas scrap purchase. This marked the beginning of our fruitful relationships with companies in mainland Europe and Scandinavia.
