Founded in 1985, Sandbach Car & Commercial Dismantlers has grown to become a leading provider of demolition services in Bolton. The company, now known as Sandbach Commercial Dismantlers, is based in Sandbach, Cheshire, and operates throughout the UK and Europe.
A Glimpse at Our Journey
Originally focused on car breaking and small-scale scrap buying, the company’s growth has seen a shift towards larger-scale operations. In 1987, an aluminium furnace was added to the yard for smelting aluminium and producing ingots. However, by 2002, the focus shifted towards scrap steel and vehicles, coinciding with less profitability in aluminium. The furnace was removed to make room for larger operations.
In 2003, we became pro-active about steel recycling and expanded our customer base with a skip hire service. This decision was part of a broader strategy to maximise productivity and extend our reach.
Expanding Our Demolition Services in Bolton
In 2005, we sought larger-scale scrap by offering dismantling and demolition services. By 2006, we were using online auctions to source ferrous and non-ferrous metals further afield. Our first overseas scrap purchase in 2007 paved the way for good working relationships with companies in mainland Europe and Scandinavia.
Adapting to the changing needs of our clients, we changed our name to Sandbach Commercial Dismantlers in 2010. This change better represents our company focus as we look to the future.
