Our journey started in 1985 as Sandbach Car & Commercial Dismantlers. The primary focus then was car breaking, small scale scrap buying, and surplus army sales. As time passed, our business evolved, along with changes in our operating scale and services.
In 1987, we made a pivotal decision to smelt aluminium, which marked the building of an aluminium furnace at our yard. However, by 2002, the focus shifted to scrap steel and vehicles, resulting in the removal of the furnace.
With our proactive approach towards steel recycling in 2003, we introduced a skip hire service to maximise productivity. Following this, in 2005, we decided to seek scrap on a larger scale by offering dismantling and demolition services.
The year 2006 marked the use of online auctions to reach further for ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Our first overseas scrap purchase was made in 2007, establishing strong working relationships with companies in mainland Europe and Scandinavia.
Reflecting our evolving focus, we changed our company name to Sandbach Commercial Dismantlers in December 2010. We are now one of the fastest-growing independent Demolition Contractors in the North of England.
