We built an aluminium furnace in 1987, which marked our venture into smelting aluminium and producing aluminium ingots. As the profitability in aluminium declined, we shifted our emphasis towards scrap steel and vehicle recycling in 2002. The furnace was removed to make space for this new venture.
In 2003, we introduced a skip hire service to increase productivity and expand our customer base. Our services then expanded in 2005 to include larger scale operations as we began offering dismantling and demolition services. 2006 marked a significant milestone in our history as we began using online auctions to source ferrous and non-ferrous metals. By 2007, we were forging solid relationships with companies in mainland Europe and Scandinavia.
Our commitment to evolution led to a change in our company name in 2010, from Sandbach Car & Commercial Dismantlers to Sandbach Commercial Dismantlers. This name better represents our focus on larger demolition projects. Today, we are one of the fastest growing independent demolition contractors in the North of England.
