Our Journey as a Demolition Contractor in Bristol
Our journey began at a small yard at Bath Street in Sandbach, focusing on car breaking, small scale scrap buying, and surplus army sales. As the business grew, we moved to a larger yard at Moston Road, where we currently reside.
In 1987, we built an aluminium furnace at our yard, deciding to smelt aluminium and produce ingots. However, in 2002, we shifted our focus to scrap steel and vehicles due to decreased profitability in aluminium.
In 2003, we became proactive about steel recycling, introducing a skip hire service to maximise productivity. Two years later, we sought scrap on a larger scale, adding dismantling and demolition services to our offering.
By 2006, we were using online auctions to source ferrous and non-ferrous metals, making our first overseas scrap purchase a year later. This paved the way for productive relationships with companies in mainland Europe and Scandinavia.
In 2010, we changed our name from Sandbach Car & Commercial Dismantlers Ltd to Sandbach Commercial Dismantlers Ltd, reflecting our evolving focus. Today, we’re targeting larger demolition projects and have become a leading demolition contractor in Bristol.
