Our Journey as a Demolition Company in Nottingham
Our journey began in 1985 when Allister Boote founded Sandbach Car & Commercial Dismantlers (SCCD). Initially, our primary focus was car breaking, small scale scrap buying and surplus army sales. In 1987, we built an aluminium furnace at our yard, showing our commitment to recycling and the environment. However, by 2002, our focus shifted towards scrap steel and vehicles as aluminium became less profitable. Consequently, we removed the furnace to make more space.
In 2003, we became pro-active about steel recycling and expanded our customer base by introducing a skip hire service. Two years later, we started offering dismantling and demolition services, seeking scrap on a larger scale. This helped us to establish our scrap yard further. By 2006, we were using online auctions to source ferrous and non-ferrous metals, even making our first overseas scrap purchase in 2007. This opened up opportunities for working relationships with companies in mainland Europe and Scandinavia.
In December 2010, we changed our name to Sandbach Commercial Dismantlers Ltd, reflecting our focus on larger demolition projects. Today, we are one of the fastest-growing independent Demolition Contractors in the North of England. We pride ourselves on maintaining excellent working relationships with our clients and adapting to their changing needs.
