Eddie Stobart’s Freight Terminal in Widnes contacted Sandbach Commercial dismantlers to dismantle and dispose of 2 x overhead gantry crane whilst full 24 hr operations took place on a live terminal
With no room to for a controlled drop the cranes had to be lifted down in sections by a specialised crane contractor with various 200,300 & 500 mobile tonne cranes place on site
The design team’s temporary works package included introducing various amounts of ballast and shipping containers to form stable load bearing restraints whilst various crane legs where left suspended ready for lifting.
All gained materials were processed on site with SCD’s 36 & 50 Tonnes demolition rigs. Both with 6 & 8 tonne shear attachments respectively
The works were completed on schedule with no disruption to the terminal. Another happy Client !!!
